Note from Webmaster: I am intending to continue this feature page on the LNWR 2-2-2 Bloomer that is being built at Tyseley Locomotive Works. Although this project has 'gone quiet' over the last few years as efforts have been devoted to Vintage Trains' launch as a regular operator of steam trains on Network Rail, nevertheless the Bloomer Project has still been 'simmering' in the background.

In the meantime you may be able to help move the project along...

RECYCLE YOUR EMPTY INKJET CARTRIDGES
and help finish the LNWR 2-2-2 Bloomer...

In Britain we dispose of over 350 million empty inkjet cartridges per year. These can easily be recycled, saving money, energy and, more importantly, the environment. Although not worth much in their own right, as a bulk collection we are able to earn a small fee for every cartridge we collect and put this towards the completion of the 2-2-2 Bloomer Class Replica that is 80% finished.

With a final 'inkjetion' of cash this type of locomotive will be seen in steam for the first time in over 130 years.

If you would like to donate your empty cartridges to the Bloomer Fund, please bring them to the Tyseley Locomotive Works Office, give them to a steward on any Vintage Trains excursion or send them (as your own cost) to

Bloomer InkJet Collection,
Birmingham Railway Museum,
670 Warwick Road,
Tyseley,
Birmingham B11 2HL.

Please Note:

We are especially keen to collect Dell, Lexmark and HP cartridges.

Unfortunately we are unable to collect any Epson cartridges.

We are only able to collect genuine manufacturer cartridges.

Any Epson, re-manufactured or third party cartridges will have to be disposed of.
