Itinerary: (subject to confirmation)

A novel way to travel to the annual Air Show at RAF Cosford, which is the largest single-day public attraction in the Midlands drawing crowds of over 45,000.

The flying display normally starts at noon and finishes just before 6.00pm, whilst visitors can view the extensive static aircraft and engineering training displays, including FREE entrance to the RAF Museum Cosford.

Additionally there are also a host of other activities including a craft fair, traders market, exhibitions, children’s playground and a fun fair.

Vintage Trains will be operating a special steam hauled train from their base at Birmingham’s Tyseley Warwick Road to Cosford hauled by Great Western ‘Pannier’ tank locomotive number 9466. Departure time approximately 08.30 arriving back to Tyseley around 20.00hrs.

Tickets for the Air Show will be available from 1st March as follows:

Postal bookings from 'SEE Tickets' must be received on or before 21 May. Make cheques payable to ‘See Tickets’ and send with your ticket requirements and a stamped addressed envelope to: SEE, 4th Floor, Norfolk House, 47 Upper Parliament Street, Nottingham NG1 2AB. 24 hour credit card booking line – 0871 230 1083 (all major cards accepted).

Please note that Vintage Trains excursions have to be slotted in between normal timetabled services of the train operating companies that run regularly on Network Rail. The actual detailed times for departures and arrivals are not usually available to us until quite close to the actual date of the train.

All times subject to confirmation. Tickets, final information and confirmed timings are mailed out to passengers AS SOON AS VINTAGE TRAINS RECEIVE FINAL TIMINGS FROM NETWORK RAIL, normally about ten days before a tour is scheduled to depart.

t2 The train starts at Tyseley Warwick Road, which is the platform within the Birmingham Railway Museum/Tyseley Locomotive Works site (click on button to see Tyseley map - the red circle shows the site & car park).

Free car parking is available at the Tyseley Locomotive Works car park, adjacent to our Warwick Road platform for tours which start from here.

If you are travelling by service train to Tyseley main line station, allow ten minutes to walk to Warwick Road platform.

WM Travel bus route 37 operates a frequent service between Birmingham City Centre (Corporation Street) and Solihull station - alight at the Warwick Road / Tyseley Hill Road stop.
