Itinerary: (subject to confirmation)

The magnificent silhouette of the Cathedral (featured in the film ‘The Da Vinci Code’) broods over 2000 years of history in Lincoln. Visit the Cathedral Quarter with the Castle and Cathedral, take a boat trip from the Brayford Waterfront to the west of the city, do some retail therapy in the many unique shops selling a diverse range of goods or relax in one of the many cafes, restaurants and historic pubs. The Cathedral Quarter and High Street are connected by Steep Hill! A ‘walk and ride’ bus is available.

The train will start from Vintage Trains' own platform within the site at Tyseley Locomotive Works (formerly known as Birmingham Railway Museum). There is a large car park, which may be used free of charge by passengers on this train.

After leaving the Tyseley complex the train takes a short run along the GW mainline to Bordesley Junction, where it takes the curve to St.Andrews Junction and the former Midland line to Landor St Junction. Here the train joins the NE-SW Cross-Country route which will give the locomotive an opportunity to show its paces to Water Orton.

The train will then go via Nuneaton (pu), Leicester(pu) and Loughborough(pu). Here we follow the Midland Mainline high speed railway through Trent Junction. The route is then via Nottingham and Newark to Lincoln. Here our locomotive is serviced ready for the return journey. There should be at least 3 hours in Lincoln. We retrace our outward steps to return our passengers to their boarding point.
