Itinerary: (subject to confirmation)

The vibrant city of Glasgow is our destination with Class 86 electric 86259 ‘Les Ross’ back on it’s old stamping ground of the West Coast Main Line. On a round trip from Birmingham to Glasgow you will travel approximately 600 miles and just see our attractive, value for money fares!!

Attractions in Glasgow include the Museum of Transport with buses, vintage cars and steam locomotives, the famous Burrell Collection, the Tall Ship ‘Glenlee’ at Glasgow Harbour, the underground railway – the ‘clockwork orange’ – world class shopping, restaurants and historic pubs.

A double deck bus city ‘hop on – hop off’ sightseeing tour is also available.

The trains starts at Birmingham New Street then picks up at Tame Bridge Parkway, Wolverhampton, Stafford and Crewe. It then proceeds via Preston then skirts the Lake District climbing Shap Fell and on to Carlisle with a further climb up Beattock to Motherwell and on to Glasgow.

This train offers a high level of passenger comfort being comprised of recently acquired ex-BR mark 2 air-conditioned carriages together with our well-known BR Mk 1 Pullman Cars as used on the 'East Coast Pullman' services. This enables Vintage Trains to offer a new passenger experience.

Premier Dining and First Class seating is at tables for two and four persons.

A selection of beers, wines and spirits will be available for purchase (by dining passengers) from the dining car team.

Juniors & Children within Dining Cars: There is no special child menu & no reduced child fare in Premier Dining.  We regret we are unable to accommodate children under 5 in the dining cars.

Special dietary requirements must be requested when making your booking.


Stations & Times:

Please note that Vintage Trains excursions have to be slotted in between normal timetabled services of the train operating companies that run regularly on Network Rail. The actual detailed times for departures and arrivals are not usually available to us until quite close to the actual date of the train.

All times subject to confirmation. Tickets, final information and confirmed timings are mailed out to passengers AS SOON AS VINTAGE TRAINS RECEIVE FINAL TIMINGS FROM NETWORK RAIL, normally about ten days before a tour is scheduled to depart.

No Smoking allowed at all on any Vintage Trains Customers are reminded that as from 1st July 2007 UK government legislation comes into effect prohibiting smoking in public places. Areas designated 'NO SMOKING' include ALL CARRIAGES ON ALL TRAINS AS WELL AS RAILWAY PLATFORMS AND PREMISES.
