GWR 175 Cornish Branch line Weekends
Vintage Trains continues to mark the 175th anniversary of the founding of the Great Western Railway through its close partnership with Swindon based franchised train operating company First Great Western.
Focusing in on one of the few surviving Cornish GWR branch lines, we will be returning copper capped steam to the picturesque Looe Branch for the first time in almost 50 years. Join us for the exciting experience of GWR designed 0-6-0 Pannier tank No 9466 working in top and tail mode with a 1960's built Class 37 diesel between Liskeard and Looe on two consecutive Sundays in September.
To support these workings we will also be offering one-way diesel hauled stock movement trains between the West Midlands and Plymouth inclusive of return travel on FGW timetabled services with add-on fares for Chiltern Railways services. Additionally there will also be diesel and steam hauled stock positioning trains between Plymouth and Liskeard on the two Sundays of our Looe Branch operations.
Why not travel down to Devon and Cornwall and make a weekend trip using both the Vintage Trains and FGW services as available/required?
