Programme for
Jan - Jun 2010
This programme covers the period from January to June 2010.
To mark the 175th anniversary of the 1835 founding of the Great Western Railway, 2010 will see Vintage Trains working in close partnership with Swindon based franchised train operating company First Great Western, the current custodian of passenger services over the bulk of the surviving routes of the former Great Western Railway.
Everyone involved with Vintage Trains Limited and Tyseley Locomotive Works is delighted to have been given the chance to use our stud of proven GWR steam locos to mark this important anniversary. Out of this partnership we have developed plans for a number of high profile and highly appropriate steam hauled workings that will not only pay homage to the heritage, the achievements and the hardware of both the GWR and the steam era Western Region which followed it, but will also provide a suitable platform upon which to sample the everyday GWR legacy that continues into the 21st Century with First Great Western.

Dining Improvements in 2010
Over the winter months we will be making many improvements to our on-board catering facilities, enabling us to provide a much improved Premier Dining service with more menus specializing in seasonal and locally sourced fresh meat and vegetables and a choice of a Full English Breakfast or a lighter Continental Breakfast including freshly baked Croissants and Pastries. As always, we will do our upmost to accommodate special dietary requirements, so please make sure to notify our staff at the time of booking.
As the season progresses we also anticipate enhanced catering provision becoming available to our non Premier passengers, with the option of a Continental Breakfast and an afternoon High Tea for our First Class passengers (reservable for an additional charge at the time of booking) and the on-train purchase of Breakfast Rolls in the mornings and a Soup/Sandwich combination in the afternoons for our Standard Class passengers.
We always appreciate your suggestions or comments, so please submit them by email

Supporting the Railway Children Charity
Vintage Trains are proud to announce that on all of our VINTAGE TRAINS GWR 175TH ANNIVERSARY OPERATIONS we will be supporting the 'Railway Children' UK charity. Founded in 1996 to work towards the relief of children and young persons under 25 years of age who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress, anywhere in the world and in particular those who are living on the streets. Railway Children fund raising teams will be travelling on all trains raising awareness of their mission and holding an 'on-train' raffle.
